Man held with LSD, MDMA in Thirumala

T'puram: Poojappura police on Tuesday arrested a 28-year-old man with a criminal background from an apartment in Thirumala after officials seized various narcotic substances, including LSD stamps, MDMA and hashish oil. The arrest was made during a raid as part of anti-drug crackdown ‘Operation Dark Hunt'.The accused was identified as Siddharth S, of Muttada in Peroorkada. He was taken into custody from a rented flat. According to police, the raid was carried out jointly by Dansaf squad and Poojappura police based on confidential information received by city police commissioner K Karthick. During the inspection, police seized 5.311g of ganja, 10 LSD stamps weighing 0.126g, 5.051g of MDMA, 17.633g of hashish oil and 38.546g of hybrid ganja. Police said the accused earlier served a three-year jail term in connection with a 200-kg ganja seizure case registered at the Balaramapuram police station. He also faces another case registered by excise department for possession of narcotic substances. Further legal proceedings against the accused are under way, and he has been remanded in judicial custody for 14 days.
