Man arrested in cannabis seizure case

T'puram: Attingal excise team on Wednesday arrested a man in connection with the seizure of more than 2kg of cannabis from a rented house at Alamcode.The arrested has been identified as Sajad (28) of Alamcode. He was taken into custody in connection with a case registered following the seizure of 2.110kg of cannabis from the rented house at Vazhottukonam on April 9.According to officials, the contraband was recovered during a raid conducted based on a tip-off that cannabis was being sold under the guise of an egg business. During inspection, the team recovered the cannabis concealed inside the premises. Following the seizure, the accused had gone into hiding. After further probe and surveillance, the excise team traced and arrested him.Officials said Sajad was involved in the sale and distribution of cannabis in the area. Further probe is under way. tnn
