Kerala signs MoU with leading US IT firm

This is expected to further enhance Kochi''s position as the prime communication hub in the country.
Under the agreement, US Dataport will design, commission and implement a neutral carrier telecom facility. The first of its kind in the country, it facilitates high quality and reliability of service for mission critical application. Customers will henceforth be able to pick their choice of carrier. This will also facilitate companies operating out of other parts of the country as well and International customers to choose Kochi for their Business Continuity Plan (Disaster Recovery).
US Dataport will also undertake modular development of a world class IT\ITES facility at the Kochi park. It will form a joint venture with Sridhar Jagannathan and other Indian and global partners for management, financing and capital development of the campus.
US Dataport was founded by Kimball Small who was twice named Developer of the Year in Silicon Valley and has been recipient of many other honours. The firm has planned and developed major office parks that became headquarters Microsoft, Oracle and Cisco Systems.
IT minister P K Kunhalikutty said that with all these initiatives, the state was hopeful of achieving more success in attracting investments. ``Kerala''s USP is its digital connectivity and this should be benefited across the country,'''' he said.
