Kerala drug bust: 7 arrested, including doctor & student; over 105g MDMA, cannabis seized
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Seven people, including an MBBS doctor and a BDS student were arrested in a major anti-drug operation in Kerala's Thoppil, Kaniyapuram early on Thursday.The arrests were carried out by the Attingal and Nedumangad Rural District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF) following a tip-off received by the Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP. The group included two women and an IT professional.

According to police, the gang was allegedly involved in smuggling MDMA and other synthetic drugs from Bengaluru, supplying them mainly to medical professionals and students. The operation came after an earlier incident when the suspects had escaped a high-speed chase, ramming their car into a police jeep.Acting on fresh intelligence, the team, led by the Narcotics DSP, surrounded the hideout and arrested all seven suspects without any resistance. During the raid, authorities seized four grams of MDMA, 100 grams of cannabis, one gram of hybrid ganja, two cars, two motorcycles, and 10 mobile phones. The drugs are reportedly valued at around Rs 3,000 per gram.The arrested have been handed over to Kadinamkulam Police for further investigation and legal proceedings.
