George, Shone have right to speak their mind: BJP
T'puram: BJP justified P C George and his son Shone George for criticising a section of clergy and Deepika newspaper. BJP general secretary S Suresh said on Saturday that Shone had the right to question the political misinterpretations peddled by Congress and the misinformation spread by the newspaper.Suresh said there was no discrimination against minority communities in any BJP-ruled areas. He emphasised that during the 12 years of Narendra Modi govt, there has been no discrimination based on caste or religion in BJP-ruled states. But discrimination exists even in minority rights in Kerala, he said. "Shone also serves his community. He has the right to counter media spreading false propaganda against his religion for political interests. George's statements were made considering local circumstances in Poonjar," Suresh said. He said the party maintains good relations with Church leaders and ordinary Christians, attributing BJP's growing support in Kerala to the backing of Christian believers.
