THANE: Congress rebel Manoj Shinde announced his decision to join Shiv Sena, with formal induction expected in the coming days.
Shinde made the announcement in the presence of Lata Shinde, wife of Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde, during a function in the city on Sunday.
It may be recalled that Manoj Shinde rebelled against the MVA decision to field Kedar Dighe for the seat and contested the polls from the Kopri-Pachpakhadi seat but faced an embarrassing defeat by garnering barely 1,653 votes.
“The chief minister is busy with a few formalities and my formal induction will be done in a few days after the new govt is formed,” Manoj Shinde announced at the event.
The former state Congress functionary alleged his former party didn’t seem intent on growing in Konkan, stagnating the growth of its leaders too, as the reason for rebelling.
