Woman, son die as cars collide near Salem
SALEM: A woman and her four-year-old son died on the spot when two cars collided with each other near Pethanaickenpalayam in Salem district on Saturday. The accident occurred on the Salem -Chennai National Highway when a car going from Namakkal to Chennai lost control and collided with another car coming from the opposite side.The deceased have been identified as S Priya, 27, of Namakkal and her son Dasvindh, 4. Priya’s husband M Suresh, 32, who was driving the car, and their seven-month-old baby boy suffered injuries. They were admitted to Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College and Hospital.Four occupants in the other car, who suffered injuries, were admitted to Pethanaickenpalayam govt hospital. The Yethapur police registered a case.
