3 people run over by truck in Krishnagiri

Krishnagiri: Three people, including a woman and her son, died on Thursday, when they were crushed under the wheels of a truck after they fell down on the road from a moped near Bargur in the district.The deceased were identified as M Sarasu, 24, of Bargur, her son Tamil Selvan, 8, and her neighbour K Srinivasan, 45. With Srinivasan at the wheel, Sarasu and her son travelled to a PDS shop in a moped.They were returning home in the moped with the purchased rice in bags. While riding the moped, Srinivasan lost control over the vehicle and fell on the road along with Sarasu and Selvan. Meanwhile, a truck coming from behind ran over them.“All the three died on the spot,” the Bargur police said.The truck was heading to Krishnagiri. The bodies were sent to the government hospital in Krishnagiri town for post-mortem. A case was registered, and further inquiry is on.
