Dumka: A 35-year-old married woman from Raigarh, Chhattisgarh, allegedly went missing from Jamtara Women’s police station (PS) on Friday morning.
The woman had been kept at the station for protection and questioning. Following the incident, police launched an extensive search operation across the town, railway stations, and nearby areas.
According to police sources, the woman, identified as Usha Yadav (35), a resident of Raigarh in Chhattisgarh, was reportedly spotted wandering in the Karmatanr police station area a few days ago. After local residents informed the police, she was taken into protective custody. As she was unable to clearly explain her situation, she was shifted to the Jamtara Women police station two days ago for better care and questioning.
During interrogation, women police personnel gathered information about her family members and informed them over the phone. Police were waiting for her relatives to arrive when the woman suddenly went missing on Friday morning.
The matter was immediately reported to Women PS in-charge Seema Kumari and senior police officials.
Till the filing of this report, no clue had been found. Jamtara SP Shambhu Kumar Singh said, “Attempts are on to identify the man who reportedly was seen accompanying her,” adding she was married and had children.
