Tighten security at shops, Bokaro police asks jewellery showrooms
Bokaro: The police on Monday asked jewellery store owners in the city and across the district to step up security measures in their respective premises. The directives came a day after seven armed men, two of them in police uniform, tried to rob a prominent jewellery store in the city on Sunday but were forced to retreat after its alarms were set off.

The police on Monday asked jewellers to install CCTV cameras and alarm systems. They were also asked to hire armed and trained security guards. “There will soon be a meeting with the owners of jewellery showrooms to sensitise them about the use of security mechanisms. A comprehensive review of security arrangements in jewellery showrooms would also be undertaken,” SP Harvinder Singh said. The SP said CCTV footages are being scanned to arrest the men involved in Sunday’s failed robbery attempt.
