Seven killed in road accidents on Ranchi outskirts in 24 hours
Ranchi: A man was killed, and two others were injured when a truck collided with their bike in Daladali Chowk area of Ranchi on Thursday. With it, the number of deaths in accidents in Ranchi rose to seven in the last 24 hours. Police said the deceased has been identified as Danish Ansari (20). The injured persons Arsalan Ansari and Nadeem, both in their early twenties, are undergoing treatment in Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims).Police stated that the victims were riding on same bike without helmet. Notably, six persons were killed in different accidents on Wednesday. Three persons including a woman Puja Dhan and her daughters Anushka Dhan and Anamika Dhan were killed when they came under a truck under Nagri police station (PS) limits. Six members of a family were travelling in a single bike when the driver lost balance, and the victims fell in front of rear wheels of the truck.Moreover, a man, identified as Irshad Ansari (30) was killed when a truck overran him as he was crossing the road in Ratu PS area. An elderly Bhagat Mahto died when he was hit by a bike under Bundu PS limits. Another person Shiv Pal Shau was killed when a truck hit him near police headquarters under Dhurwa PS.
Joint commissioner road safety Pradeep Kumar stated, "The department would install electronic devices for enforcement of traffic norms in rural areas as well.
