Ranchi Man Murdered Over Extramarital Affair: Five Arrested

Ranchi: Five persons, including a woman, were arrested for allegedly killing a man whose blood-stained body was found on Thursday.

Body of the victim, identified as Asif Ansari (30), was recovered from Gadigaon area under Khelgaon police station limits.


The body had severe head injuries. According to police, the deceased had an extra-marital affair with Biula Toppo for the past 15 years.

“Biula’s husband, Johnson Minj, was aware of the relationship. Upset, Johnson, along with three of his acquaintances, Deepak Agrawal, Prince Kumar and Prem Lakra, allegedly killed Ansari,” city DSP Sanjeev Kumar Besra told the media on Sunday.

Johnson gave the three around Rs 4 lakh for the murder, police added. The accused first shot him on Wednesday night and left his body at the spot. Locals spotted it the next morning.

“They repeatedly hit Ansari’s head, trying to make it look like an accident. Biula, too, helped her husband in tampering with the evidence. All five were arrested and sent to judicial custody,” Besra added.
