Probe into Sindri NAC funds misuse
SINDRI: The vigilance department has started the inquiry into the alleged irregularities in appointment and financial defalcations in Sindri Notified Area Committee (NAC) which was later amalgamated into the Sindri circle of Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC).
Baleshwar Singh, a retired employee of the Sindri NAC, filed a case in the high court raising the issue of NAC employees working on the basis of fake appointment letters and educational certificates, seeking its directive for vigilance inquiry.

The court directed him to approach the vigilance department with related documents which has started probing the allegations.
According to the allegations, the employees were appointed for two months by an executive officer of the NAC whose appointment was found illegal by the then Bihar government. Similarly, many employees were appointed by a former clerk of the NAC who had no authorities to appoint other Grade III employees.
Singh has reportedly also submitted audit reports suggesting huge financial irregularities on which no actions were taken by officials concerned.
Vigilance DSP Alimuddin Khan on March 28 has asked the DMC administrator to submit 15 files related with the appointment and audit and furnish information by April 13. But the DMC is yet to submit the files.
The clout of the employees allegedly involved in the irregularities can well be understood by the fact that when the vigilance department sought the information about them, the DMC, instead of sending the information, sent documents related with allegations on Baleshwar Singh and cases filed by him which were dismissed by the high court earlier.

The vigilance department took it seriously and asked the DMC administrator to either provide the documents asked for or face inquiry for protecting the corrupt. As a result, DMC administrator Anand Mohan, along with assistant administrator Shail Prabha Kujur Singh, is camping in Sindri for the past three days and is collecting documents. However, many files related with appointment and audit are said to be missing.
Anand Mohan Singh said he was collecting the information and the files would be sent to the vigilance department within a week.
