Chatra: On the instructions of SP Sumit Kumar Agarwal, a police team destroyed poppy plants on 3 acres of land in remote villages of the Hunterganj police station area on Monday.
The operation was led by Chatra SDPO Sandeep Kumar Suman. The villages where the poppy plants were destroyed included Luta, Fatta, Murainwa, Kolwa, and Bedouli.
OC of Hunterganj police station, Prabhat Kumar, said that police officials from Jharkhand Jaguar participated in this opium destruction campaign. The police have started identifying the people involved in the cultivation.
Kumar mentioned that these were remote villages, so drone cameras were used to identify plots used for poppy cultivation.
