Man stabbed to death after row over loud DJ music

Bokaro: A dispute over loud DJ music being allegedly played late on Thursday night turned violent near Hutti Bazaar in Giridih, leaving a man dead and three injured. The deceased has been identified as Ajay Das.

Those injured included Ajay’s brother, Praveen Das, Prem Das and Rajesh Das. All the injured were rushed to Sadar hospital for treatment.


Praveen said Ajay went to ask a group to stop the DJ music being played loudly at night. What began as a verbal argument soon escalated into violent confrontation.

Praveen alleged that when he reached the spot, he saw a few persons allegedly carrying sharp weapons and launching an attack on Ajay and others soon after.

During the assault, Ajay sustained a stab wound to his chest. He was rushed to hospital but succumbed to his injuries. The attackers fled the scene after injuring another three persons.

On receiving information, DSP Neeraj Kumar Singh reached Sadar hospital and spoke to the victim’s family members. “Police recorded the statement of Praveen and are conducting investigation to ascertain the sequence of events,” said Singh. “The accused have been identified and raids are being conducted to arrest them,” he added.
