Ranchi: The CID) has arrested a man for killing a 26-year-old woman by pushing her off a train in March 2020. The accused, identified as Satyendra Kumar Singh (25), was arrested from his native Bardewa village under Padma police station limits in Hazaribag. Singh had allegedly pushed the woman, a Bokaro resident, from a moving train in the intervening hours of March 19-20, 2020.
Sources stated that a CID team led by the ASP and investigating officer Ajay Agrawal nabbed the accused person last week.Sources stated that a case related to a missing woman was lodged in Bokaro in 2021 even as the preliminary information was provided to the police in 2020, during the outbreak of Covid 19. The CID took over the case when the local police could not make progress. The woman, a mother of two children, had a marital dispute with her husband when she came in contact with Singh. Singh grew jealous when she began working in Maghi short films.
She boarded a train with him for Uttar Pradesh where Singh worked. During the journey Singh insisted on marrying her when the woman said that she would wait for her divorce settlement. Angered by her arguments Singh pushed the woman off the moving train between Koderma and Gaya leading to her death.
