Jharkhand High Court requests solution for rushed vehicle auction; chief secretary ordered to report findings in a month
Ranchi: The Jharkhand high court on Wednesday directed the state govt to find a solution for restoring a vehicle that was allegedly auctioned and sold in haste by the Latehar district administration.
The court asked the chief secretary to examine the matter and submit a solution within a month.
The case pertains to a truck belonging to Ashok Singh, which was confiscated by the Latehar district administration for allegedly transporting illegal minerals. During the pendency of Singh’s challenge against the confiscation, the Latehar deputy commissioner auctioned and sold the truck to another person at a reportedly low price.
The matter is scheduled to be heard again on June 17.
