Jharkhand CEO shares list of unmapped voters with political parties, asks for their cooperation
Ranchi: Jharkhand chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar on Friday gave the list of unmapped voters to recognised political parties and asked for their cooperation.
The information was given to the parties through pen drives, a statement from the CEO’s office said, adding that the CEO said that cooperation from all recognised political parties is expected in the SIR process.
Kumar further said that if a voter is unmapped, then after receiving a notice from the ERO during the SIR process, they will be required to submit documents related to self/mother or father/both mother and father/grandparents, based on date of birth.
All unmapped voters will have to undergo ERO notice and hearing process in order to be included in final voter list, he said, adding both mapped/unmapped voters will receive partially filled enumeration forms for SIR.
It may be noted that the list of unmapped voters has been published at all polling stations in the state since May 23. Voters are reviewing the said list at their convenience and getting mapping done through BLOs.
Kumar on Friday also said that from June 30, BLOs will go door-to-door to provide partially filled enumeration forms to both mapped and unmapped voters.
Voters are required to fill the enumeration form by affixing only 1 updated photograph along with the details already filled in the form and signing it. If both mapped and unmapped voters return their filled and signed enumeration form to the BLO, their name will be included in the draft voter list.
Mapped voters will generally not be required to submit any additional documents in the SIR process.
The final publication of the voter list, after disposal of claims and objections by the EROs, will be done on Oct 7, 2026.
