Hazaribag: Ahead of the Hazaribag Municipal Corporation (HMC) elections on Feb 23, district police have gone on a high alert to ensure proper law and order. Hazaribag SP Anjani Anjan said that around 100 suspicious and history-sheeter individuals are being identified under each police station area to make them submit bonds and mandatory reporting to police station regularly to keep tabs on them.
Police said that based on 2018 civic polls, 76 booths have been identified as highly sensitive, 52 as sensitive and 22 as normal.

“Special security arrangements are being planned for sensitive and highly sensitive polling stations. Additional forces will be deployed in vulnerable pockets, while surveillance has been tightened on criminal elements,” said the SP.
The district administration has announced the relocation of some polling stations within HMC area for voter convenience, following an approval from the Election Commission.
For example, in ward 27, four polling stations earlier located at Kumhartoli Govt Middle School and Munka Bagicha Dharamshala have been shifted to different sections of Girls Middle School, Kumhartoli. In ward 32, three polling stations previously located at Delhi Public School, Barkagaon Road, have been relocated to GD Goenka Public School within the same ward limits.
Election officials clarified that all relocated polling stations remain within their respective wards. Voters have been urged to verify their designated polling centres in advance and booth level officers and election staff have been instructed to ensure timely dissemination of information regarding the changes.
