Hazaribag: The police have seized a large consignment of India made foreign liquor (IMFL), bound for Bihar, from Tatijharia police station limits and arrested one person, it said on Saturday. With model code of conduct in force due to civic body polls, administration is on high alert to curb misuse of liquor.
SP Anjani Anjan said that the seizure was made late on Friday. “A team conducted a raid near Bodha forest area, where a pickup van without a registration number was spotted. Seeing the police, the driver attempted to flee but was overpowered by the team. Police recovered 60 cartons of foreign liquor concealed inside the pickup van," he said.

The accused, identified as Ramchandra Saw, is a resident of Bodha village under the same police station limits. The police said Saw confessed to his involvement in liquor smuggling and said the consignment was to be smuggled into Bihar.
