28 arrested in district-wide crackdown in Bokaro

Bokaro: Police arrested 28 accused during a district-wide overnight crackdown and sent them to judicial custody.The special drive was launched on Sunday night. Superintendent of police Nathu Ram Meena said, “Teams were formed across the district to prevent criminal activities and execute pending warrants. Simultaneous raids were carried out in 18 police station and outpost areas, leading to the arrest of individuals who had been evading legal action.”The operation's biggest success was the arrest of Shambhu Kumar, an accused in an Arms Act case who had been absconding since 2024. A resident of Bansidih village under Chas police station limits, Kumar had remained on the run for nearly two years before being traced and arrested.Among the police stations, City, Marafari and Peterwar recorded the highest number of arrests with three each.Harla, Jaridih, Chatrochatti and Chandrapura police stations arrested two accused each, while the remaining arrests were made by Chas, Pindrajora, Chira Chas, Chandankiyari, Balidih, Gomia, Nawadih and several police outposts.Police said such coordinated drives would continue to ensure the execution of pending warrants and strengthen law and order across the district.
