246 polling stations to be set up for civic body polls in Palamu
Daltonganj: A total of 157 govt buildings will be used for setting up 243 polling stations in Palamu district for the ensuing civic body election on February 23. Apart from this, three mobile polling stations will be set up, taking the total number of polling stations in the district to 246, officials said on Friday.According to the officials, of the total buildings, 80 will have only one polling station each, while 68 buildings will have two polling stations each and nine buildings will house three stations each.

The district election officer (municipality)-cum-deputy commissioner, Palamu Sameera S, said there would be some newer polling stations compared to the 2024 Vidhan Sabha election.Moreover, the deputy election officer (municipality), Ratan Kumar Singh, also said, “Polling stations are made in such buildings, particularly govt schools which have adequate basic facilities in them.” A large number of govt schools have ramps, too, which would be a convenience for the disabled voters, he added.
