170 Kg Illegal Doda Seized in Chatra Operation, Driver Escapes

Chatra: A police team led by Simaria SDPO Nagargoje, Shubham Bhau Saheb conducted a major operation in Lawalong police station area and seized around 170 kg of illegal doda being transported in a vehicle. The driver, however, managed to escape by taking advantage of the dense forest cover, police said on Wednesday.

Shubham said, “Police had received information that an SUV carrying illegal doda was moving through the Lawalong route. The team launched an intensive vehicle-checking drive near Kolkole village during which a vehicle approaching from the Bhusad side didn’t stop upon asking. The attempted to flee but we caught it near Sohawan village after a chase.”

Taking advantage of the dense jungle, the driver abandoned the vehicle and escaped from the spot.

“Upon search, police recovered eight sacks containing around 170 kg of illegal doda from it. The vehicle has been seized and an FIR has been filed at Lawalong police station,” he said.
