Design meets technology at 3-day city exhibition

Rajkot: A unique convergence of architecture, interior design and engineering is set to captivate the city with a three-day exhibition from April 11 to 13.The event will be held at the Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Art Gallery at Racecourse and will remain open to the public from 10am to 7pm each day.The exhibition is a collaborative initiative by three leading institutions from the Saurashtra-Kutch region — the Indubhai Parekh School of Architecture, the Kish School of Design and VVP Engineering College.The exhibition will be inaugurated at 10am on April 11 in the presence of Rajya Sabha MP Shri Ram Mokariya, Rajkot MLA Darshita Shah, and trustees of VVP Engineering College.According to the organizers, visitors can expect a diverse showcase of visual and physical exhibits, including models, drawings and photographs of township projects, institutional architecture and detailed interior design works.A key highlight will be demonstrations of advanced, socially relevant engineering prototypes. These include a green hydrogen fuel alternative aimed at reducing dependence on conventional fuels, and an AI-based ambulance detection system designed to automate traffic signal control.The exhibition will also feature voice-operated home appliances, IoT-enabled water heaters controlled via mobile applications, and eco-friendly mobility solutions such as a solar-powered electric car and an electric bicycle.Among other attractions are a modern solar farm with a tracking system, a smart shopping cart for retail use, a water quality analyser, a smart waste management system, a 3D printer, and scientific models explaining the structure and function of G-proteins.
