Woman constable dies by suicide in govt quarters

Raipur: A woman constable, identified as Pooja Kushwaha, was found dead at her govt residence in the police colony in Azad Chowk on Saturday night.Kushwaha, who was posted in the same area, was alone at her quarters when the incident occurred around 8.30 pm.The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local police department. Senior officers and a team from the Azad Chowk police station secured the spot and initiated an investigation immediately after being informed.According to police, the case appears to be a suicide. "While it prima facie looks like a suicide, the actual reason will be clear only after a thorough probe," police said.Meanwhile, sources claimed that Pooja had a video call with her husband during which she allegedly threatened to end her life. The husband reportedly took the warning lightly. There had been some disputes between the couple, sources added.
