Two cousins killed as vehicle hits bike in Durg

Raipur: Two cousins were killed when an unidentified vehicle hit their motorcycle on Sunday morning near Anjori Chowki, close to the Khairagarh-Durg bypass road, in Durg district.According to police officials, the victims — identified as 18-year-olds Abhishek Verma and Sachin Verma — were residents of Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh. Around 4AM on Sunday, when they were en-route to the Durg district, an unknown vehicle hit their bike and fled the scene. At around 5 AM, the passers-by spotted the two and informed the police.Upon reaching the scene, the police sent the bodies for autopsy. A large crowd gathered at the accident spot, leading to a significant traffic jam that was eventually cleared by officials within an hour. The CCTV footages along the routes are yet to be examined. The parents of the deceased were notified and the investigation was underway, the police said.
