RAIPUR: The Bastar divisional commissioner has instructed all the district collectors of the tribal-dominated division to improve the arrangement of ashram-hostels keeping in view the convenience of students.
Instructions have been given to clean and paint all the ashram-hostels which were closed for the last one and a half years due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bastar divisional commissioner GR Churendra has directed to organize a meeting cum workshop of all the superintendents of the ashrams and hostels every month under the chairmanship of the district collector to ensure timely completion of renovation and repair work and to provide training for better operation of these institutes.
In addition, he has also directed to develop kitchen gardens mandatorily in these institutions. Along with making physical education of the students compulsory, the commissioner directed to motivate the students to give voluntarily contribution in works like tree plantation.
Instructions were also given to develop a ground near the ashram-hostel for physical education of the students. He has urged to promote plantation of fruit-bearing, shady and ornamental plants in the premises of ashram-hostel to enhance the beauty of buildings.
Besides, the children should be made aware of the importance of tree plantation. Churendra has given instructions to the officials concerned to take utmost care of the cleanliness in the ashram hostels and to ensure construction of toilets as per the requirement.
