After week’s break, state may receive rain again from today

Raipur: The capital’s resident woke up to humid Monday with rain eluding the city throughout the day. As monsoon activities coming to a halt over the last week, there are chances of good rain from Tuesday, according to meteorological department. According to the state climatologist HP Chandra, the past two days’ rains occurred in Bastar and Sarguja divisions but it did not rain in other divisions resulting in the increasingly humid weather all over the districts and areas. From the evening of Monday clouds within the various districts would resume while some areas will also be witnessed in some areas of the state.Yellow warnings for some districts have been issued including Jashpur, Sarguja, Korba, Bilaspur, Raigarh, and Janjgir-Champa where moderate to heavy showers are predicted, he added.After a good amount of rainfall in the month of June, the state was experiencing a halt while the monsoon showers to resume by Tuesday. A monsoon trough has formed which will pass through Bikaner, Dausa, Gwalior, and Ambikapur via Sidhi, Balasore till the Bay of South-west Bengal. A cyclone is also forming over the central part of the southwest Bay of Bengal. Because of this a large amount of moisture is likely to come from the sea.Due to this, there is a possibility of showers with thunder and lightning at most places in almost all the divisions of the state. moderate to heavy rains are predicted in a few places, said the Meteorological department.
