Two held for thefts

Hinjewadi

Police constables attached to the anti-dacoity cell of the Pune crime branch has received a tip-off that the criminal on the police records Ganesh Vijay Mohite was involved in the recent theft at Yerawada. “We laid a trap in Parnakuti area in Yerawada and took Mohite into custody,” said Anil Patil inspector of the crime branch.


Patil said that the police have recovered a cell phone worth Rs 10,000 from the possession of Mohite. “The investigations have revealed that the suspect Mohite had stolen the cell phone from Yerawada area,” Patil said.


In Hinjewadi’s case, the crime branch got a tip-off that the suspect involved in theft of laptop and cell phone from Hijewadi area was waiting for Mumbai bus at Wakad. “We rushed to the bus stop at Wakad and took the suspect Kshitij Gajanan Pise (26) of Wakad into our custody,” Patil said.


The police have recovered the laptop, cell phone and other valuables all collectively worth Rs 29,000 from the possession of Bhise.
The investigating team comprised assistant inspector Laxman Dhengale, police constables Asif Patel, Nilesh Patil, Pradip Shitole, Santosh Pagar, Rahul Ghadage, Ashok Atole, Vinayak Pawar, Vinod Salunke and Pramod Gaikwad.
