PUNE: The residents of Baner will wake up to a fun-filled Sunday as Happy Streets will revisit the location for the second consecutive Sunday on December 18 from 6.30am to 9.30am. One side of the road, between Lt Baburao Habaji Saykar Chowk and Gera Emerald City Gate, will be closed to vehicular traffic during the three hours, to allow the participants have a gala time with their friends, family members and fellow citizens strolling on the traffic-free road as well as take part in the live events.Happy Streets is an initiative by The Times of India and Maharashtra Times in collaboration with Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and is sponsored by Vilas Javdekar.Continuing from last week, attendees can groove to peppy numbers at the Zumba stage or sing their hearts out at the live orchestra area. For the intellectually inclined, there will be chess boards and other games where you can either play with your friends or compete against a stranger and show off your skills. Functional training, different types of meditation practices, race games, mental health awareness activities, etc will keep the adrenaline pumping, art and craft, pottery, tattoo artists, drum circles, etc. will help participants unleash their creative side. An entire area will be dedicated to children so that they are occupied with different activities such as painting, pottery, and some games specially designed for them.
