A dream debut with Bryan Adams
PUNE: Not many make a debut on a stage like this. But 20-year-old Reewa Rathod is only too aware of the “awesome responsibility” that goes with her opening act at the Bryan Adams Concert. Rathod, who would be showcasing her very own composition “Crossing Limits”, a mixture of fusion and hip-hop says she is nervous and excited by turn. “ I have been rehearsing night and day ever since I got to know that I am performing at the concert,” she says. The musician, who has studied up to the Eighth grade of Piano at the Royal School of London, apart from pursuing a diploma in Mozart and Beethoven under Shanti Seldon, hasalso taken lessons in Carnatic music from Balamani and Prasanna. “Ibelieve in hard work and a thorough training regime,” shesays. With ghazal maestros Roopkumar and Sunali Rathod as parents, she is not worried about comparisons. “Our genres are different, so Idon’t see why the comparisons should arise,” she says.
