Youth shot dead in Beur area over land dispute

Patna: Criminals shot dead a youth in Beur locality under Phulwarisharif police station area over an alleged land dispute on Saturday, police said. The family accused relatives of killing Anand Kumar (40) over a long-standing land dispute. An FIR has been registered in this regard.Police sent the body for the postmortem and started an investigation.Phulwarisharif SDPO-1 Sushil Kumar said criminals shot Anand behind the ear near a private hospital in Beur locality.According to the family, Anand had an old dispute with his paternal relatives over a piece of land. The matter was pending in court as a title suit.Anand’s brother Arvind Kumar alleged that some family members conspired to kill him due to the land issue. The family suspects two relatives—Bhutali Rai and Raju Kumar—of being involved in the killing.“All angles are being probed, including the family’s allegations. Raids are underway to identify and arrest the accused. An FIR has been registered against the relatives based on the application filed by the deceased’s family. Police are also scanning CCTV footage from the crime scene to identify the assailants,” the SDPO added.
