Buxar: A 19-year-old youth died while two others sustained serious injuries after their motorcycle collided with a speeding truck near Trilokpur Dera village on Chausa-Kochas main road under Rajpur police station in Buxar district on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Vikas Ram (19), son of Laldhar Ram and a resident of Trikalpur village. The injured youths — Arun Ram (18), son of Kamlesh Ram, and Pawan Ram (20), son of Pallu Ram — were rushed to Rajpur Community Health Centre. After primary treatment, both were referred to a higher medical facility due to their serious condition.Following the incident, angry villagers and relatives staged a protest by blocking Chausa-Kochas main road. The protesters demanded adequate compensation for the victim’s family and immediate arrest of the truck driver responsible for the accident. The road blockade led to long traffic jams on both sides of the route, disrupting vehicular movement for several hours. After receiving information, police personnel from Rajpur police station reached the spot along with additional forces and initiated efforts to pacify the protesters. Police officials held talks with villagers to restore normal traffic movement. Rajpur SHO Srinivas Kumar said police have identified the truck and its driver, and further action is underway to arrest the accused.
