In a shocking incident this morning around 9 am, a speeding vehicle lost control on Atal Path, crashing through a median and rolling over before colliding head-on with an autorickshaw. The impact was severe, crumpling the front of the auto, which carried a driver and a female passenger. Both individuals suffered significant injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
Patna: Two people were seriously injured in a road accident on Atal Path in Gandhi Maidan traffic police station area when a speeding car collided head-on with an autorickshaw on Tuesday.The incident took place around 9am, when the car lost control, skidded across the road, smashed through the divider railing, and overturned in the middle of the carriageway before hitting the auto coming from the opposite direction. According to eyewitnesses, the crash was so severe that the front portion of the auto was completely smashed.Upon receiving the information, the police reached the spot and cleared the traffic.Traffic police officer Brajesh Chauhan said two injured, including the auto driver and a woman passenger, were rushed to hospitals for treatment. “While one is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital, the other is admitted to the PMCH. Their identities are yet to be confirmed, and police are making efforts to trace and contact their families,” he told this reporter.The car involved in the accident was seized and towed to the Gandhi Maidan traffic police station for detailed inspection. The investigation is being jointly handled by the traffic police with support from Digha police station.“The driver of the SUV escaped after the accident, leaving his vehicle. We are trying to identify him,” the officer said.
