Three killed in Aurangabad road accident
Patna: Three people died and three others were injured after a tractor rammed a car on NH-120 near Goh police station area in Aurangabad district on Sunday afternoon. The car driver fled the spot, abandoning the vehicle.
Angered by the incident, local residents blocked NH-120 for several hours, disrupting traffic. Goh police reached the spot and cleared the road after pacifying the crowd.
The deceased have been identified as Mamta Kumari (45), wife of Upendra Yadav, and her daughter Chulbul Kumari (18), both residents of Hichhan Bigha under Daudnagar police station, and Khushi Kumari (17), daughter of the late Vinod Yadav, from Darwa village under Uphara police station.
According to police, Khushi had accompanied her aunt Mamta to the Mosrama fair in Arwal district. The group was returning home in a car when a speeding tractor hit the vehicle from behind near Goh. Mamta, Chulbul and Khushi died on the spot.
Seven people were travelling in the car. Among the survivors, three sustained serious injuries: Muskan Kumari (14) and Samar Kumar (12), children of Upendra Yadav, and Sangeeta Devi (40), wife of late Vinod Yadav. After initial treatment at a local facility, Muskan and Samar were referred to Gaya Medical College due to the severity of their injuries.
Goh SHO Rajiv Kumar said an investigation is underway. “We received information about the accident and are looking into all aspects. Necessary legal formalities are being completed,” he said.
Police are trying to trace the tractor and its driver. Initial reports suggest the tractor, allegedly being driven at high speed, rammed the car from behind, leaving it badly mangled, the SHO added.
