Three girls hurt in knife attack over rent dispute
Patna: Three girls were injured after a lodge owner’s son attacked them with a knife in a dispute over rent that occurred in a lodge located at Musallahpur Haat locality under the Pirbahore police station area in Patna on Friday. The girls were immediately admitted to the Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), where their condition is out of danger. The accused was arrested immediately.
The girls had an argument with the lodge owner’s wife, which enraged her son, leading to the attack.
Town SDPO-1 Rajesh Ranjan said, “Initial probe shows there was a dispute between students and the lodge owner’s wife over room rent. During the argument, her son Chris arrived and attacked the students in anger.”
According to the cops, the lodge belongs to Neeraj Kumar. His son Chris suddenly got angry after seeing his mother quarrelling with the girls staying at the lodge and attacked them with a vegetable knife. The girls screamed and ran to save themselves. Locals informed police immediately.
The injured students were taken to PMCH with help from locals and police. All of them sustained minor injuries and are out of danger. The incident has left students scared and angry.
“The accused has been arrested and legal action is being taken. Police are questioning other students at the lodge to find out the full truth. They are also probing if the attack was preplanned or done in sudden anger,” the SDPO-1 said.
Musallahpur Haat is a major student hub in Patna, where many students reside in lodges and hostels for competitive exam preparation.
