Tejashwi alleges Nitish Kumar sent to Rajya Sabha under pressure, claims 'hijacking'
Patna: Nitish Kumar is being sent to Rajya Sabha under pressure, opposition leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav alleged on Thursday, claiming he has “full sympathy” for the chief minister.
Yadav said he had maintained “from the beginning” that Nitish had been “hijacked,” and claimed recent developments had vindicated his assertion.
“I have said that Nitish ji had been hijacked. I wish him good health and thank him for serving Bihar for 20 years,” Yadav said.
Talking to reporters outside the 10, Circular Road, bungalow, Yadav said common people are against this change in power. “Had Nitish remained with the RJD, the current situation would not have arisen,” Yadav said.
He described the political changes in Bihar as an attempt to suppress ‘bahujan’ politics, alleging the BJP was sidelining leaders from backward, dalit and minority communities, besides those who advocate social justice and secular politics.
Yadav said he had forecast the developments earlier during elections, using an analogy that while Nitish was made to “sit on the horse as the groom”, “the ‘phera’ would be taken by someone else”. He termed the developments a “betrayal of the mandate”, alleging the NDA sought votes with the slogan “2025 se 30 phir se Nitish”, but the BJP had mentally pressured him to taking the step.
He also targeted the BJP, alleging it had swallowed its allies in other states, citing Maharashtra’s Shiv Sena, the AIADMK in Tamil Nadu, People’s Democratic Party in Jammu and Kashmir, and Dushyant Chautala’s party in Haryana.
Yadav said the next chief minister would be “nothing but a rubber stamp”, alleging the BJP wanted to implement the RSS agenda in the state.
