Students take part in events on National Girl Child Day
Patna: Women and Child Development Corporation (WCDC), Bihar, organised a series of events on Saturday at Janakdhari High School, Danapur Cantt, to mark National Girl Child Day under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. Students from Janakdhari high school, Dhaneshwari high school and Ghanshyam high school participated in a walkathon, plantation drive, and essay-writing and painting competitions.The walkathon started from Sainik Chowk, passed through Shaheed Smarak Chowk, and returned to the school. Participants raised slogans promoting girl-child education and gender equality. After the march, students recited poems and performed Bhojpuri folk songs based on the campaign’s themes.

The sub-divisional officer of Danapur, the district programme officer of ICDS, and other administrative officials took part in the tree-plantation on the school premises. Winners of the academic and artistic competitions were awarded trophies and certificates, while other participants received certificates of appreciation.The event concluded with a vote of thanks and the national anthem. Those present included the block development officer, circle officer, district mission coordinator, and financial specialists from the WCDC.
