Sand-laden tractor kills child in Buxar
Tragedy struck Basav Kala village in Buxar when a speeding sand-laden tractor struck two children on their way to school, killing 7-year-old Hrithik Kumar and leaving 8-year-old Sujit Kumar Pal critically injured. The driver fled the scene. Locals rushed Sujit to hospital, where he was referred to Varanasi. Police have seized the tractor and are searching for the driver.
Buxar: A road accident in Basav Kala village under the Sikraul police station area of Buxar district on Saturday morning left one child dead and another critically injured.Hrithik Kumar alias Bulbul (7) died and Sujit Kumar Pal (8) was injured when a speeding sand-laden tractor struck them from behind. The incident occurred when the children, both residents of Basav Kala, were on their way to school.Eyewitnesses said the tractor was being driven at high speed and the driver lost control, crushing both children on the road. After the accident, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled.Locals immediately rushed the injured Sujit to Buxar Sadar Hospital. After administering first aid, doctors referred him to Varanasi as his condition was stated to be critical. The body of Hrithik, who died on the spot, was sent for post-mortem.Villagers have demanded a crackdown on speeding vehicles and unlawful sand mining activities. SHO Ankush Kumar said the tractor involved in the accident has been seized. Efforts are underway to arrest the absconding driver. The administration has assured strict action against those found guilty.
