Minor boy detained for raping girl in city

Patna: A 13-year-old minor boy was detained in the state capital on Wednesday for raping a 17-year-old girl. Both are residents of the same building. The boy committed the crime when both were alone at their homes, police said.

Cops said both are minors and live as tenants in the same building.

According to the girl’s complaint, her family members went out for work and the boy’s family was also not home at the time of the incident on Tuesday. The boy allegedly came down the stairs and knocked on the girl’s door. Thinking it was someone from her family, the girl opened the door. The boy then entered the room and shut the door from inside.

The girl alleged that the boy then raped her and fled. She informed her family after they returned from work. The family took her to a police station and filed a written complaint. A medical examination of the girl was conducted. She has also recorded her statement before the court.

SDPO-II (law & order) Divyanjali Jaiswal said, “The accused has been detained. Police received information about the incident at 11am on Tuesday. A team reached the spot and an FSL team carried out an examination. All evidence from the spot has been collected and seized. Further investigation is underway.”
