Buxar: Members of the Swarnkar Samaj at a meeting in Munim Chowk on Monday raised concern over the ongoing slowdown in the bullion and jewellery market.
State vice-president
Vinod Verma said the downturn is affecting the sector’s value chain — artisans, goldsmiths, small units, wholesalers and retailers — and could impact employment and production if it persists.
Participants said declining demand is putting pressure on small businesses and traditional craftsmen dependent on steady sales. Concerns over jobs and sustainability of the trade were also flagged.
Verma stressed the need for supportive policies and a stable business environment to boost consumer confidence and ease pressure on the sector.
