PATNA: An Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) sub-inspector, Vijay Singh, allegedly died by suicide after jumping from the roof of Asian City Hospital on Sunday.
Singh hailed from Jalalpur, Chhapra, and had been undergoing treatment at the hospital for poor health.
Officials reported that his condition had deteriorated recently.
Police received information about the incident at around 12.30pm.
Sub-Inspector Sujit Kumar of the Digha police station said, "We received information regarding an ITBP sub-inspector from Jalalpur in Chhapra, named Vijay Singh. His health had deteriorated while he was undergoing treatment at Asian Hospital."
"Around 12:30 pm today, we were informed that he had died by suicide after jumping from the roof," he added.

A special team has been informed, and further investigation into the incident is underway.
