PATNA: The Indian women's rugby team secured the bronze medal at the Asia Rugby (Under-20) Championship 2025, held for the first time in Bihar at the State Sports Academy-cum-Bihar Sports University in Rajgir.
CM Nitish Kumar congratulated the team, describing their performance as a proud achievement for both Bihar and the country. "This victory is especially meaningful as four players from Bihar were part of the winning squad," he said.
Hosting the championship marked a major milestone in Bihar's efforts to promote sports and nurture young talent. The CM also extended his congratulations to other medal-winning teams: Hong Kong (men's winner), Sri Lanka (men's runner-up), China (women's winner) and Hong Kong (women's runner-up).
