Buxar: A fuel station worker died in a road accident near Karela Dera village on Chausa-Kochas main road under Rajpur police station area in Buxar district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Abhishek Kumar (35), a resident of Govindpur village under Mufassil police station limits. Abhishek had been working at Vishwanath Fuel Service Centre in Rampur for the past eight years.
However, his family members alleged that it was a pre-planned murder. According to the family, Abhishek was not going to the fuel station for the past two days as he was upset over his long-pending demand for a salary hike, which the owner had allegedly denied. They claimed that on Sunday the fuel station owner called Abhishek for a meeting, after which the incident occurred. The family alleged that the accident was part of a conspiracy.
Local villagers said passers-by spotted Abhishek lying critically injured on the road near Karela Dera village and they informed Dial 112. Police reached the spot and rushed him to the Rajpur community health centre.
Due to his critical condition, he was referred to Buxar Sadar Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead on arrival.
To protest the death, the family members blocked the Chausa-Buxar main road near the hospital gate around 6pm, leading to a long traffic jam.
On receiving information, Town police station SHO Manoj Kumar Singh reached the spot with police force and tried to pacify the protesters. However, they remained adamant, demanding strict action against the alleged accused.
Till 9pm, the road blockade was not fully lifted. Police officials said the matter is being taken seriously and all angles are being investigated.
Further action will be taken after the autopsy report comes and the family files a formal complaint, said the SHO.
