Bettiah: Four people, including a student, were injured when an SUV and a school bus collided head-on due to dense fog near Baikunthwa Sthan on Ramnagar-Lauria main road in West Champaran on Friday morning. However, no one was seriously injured in the accident. After first aid, all were discharged from the hospital.
The injured student, Atif Ali (9), a resident of Sabeya village, was admitted to the Ramnagar Community Health Centre (CHC). The injured SUV’s passengers—Abdul Sattar, Kaushar Ali, and Sanjar Alam—all residents of Deurwa village in Lauriya police station area, were treated at a private nursing home in Ramnagar.
Kaushar said, “We were going from Ramnagar to Deurava village in an SUV. The school bus coming from Lauriya collided head-on with our SUV, as the visibility was poor due to the fog. Local people rushed us to a private clinic.”
Ramnagar police station sub-inspector Sanjay Kumar said as soon as they received information about the accident, the 112 team arrived at the scene. The injured student and others were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Rajesh Kumar, a doctor at the CHC, Ramnagar, said the schoolboy suffered a cut above his right eye, which was stitched. Since the injury was minor, he was given first aid and sent home. (With report from Dilip Kumar)
