Ara: Bhojpur police on Friday arrested five bike lifters and seized five stolen motorcycles from their possession.
Ara Sadar SDPO Raj Kumar Shah said, “At the instructions of the Bhojpur SP, a special police team led by myself and the Town police station SHO, Devraj Rai, was constituted to curb incidents of bike theft in the district and to nab the culprits. On Friday we arrested five bike lifters and seized five stolen bikes from their possession. The arrested accused are members of an inter-district gang of bike thieves. During interrogation, they revealed that they used to sell the stolen bikes in different districts of Bihar.”
Those arrested included Sonu Shukla, Pintu Kumar, Mahendra Kumar, Motilal Kumar and Shyambabu Rai alias Lalu.
“It was Sonu Shukla, a resident of a village under Dhobahan police station in Bhojpur district, who had stolen the bike of a health worker of Ara Sadar Hospital and was first arrested by the police. Based on the information provided by Sonu, the other four accused were arrested,” the SDPO said.
