Vijay Kumar Choudhary on Saturday inaugurated the ASHA (automated solar-powered high-efficiency irrigation water application) scheme with an estimated cost of Rs12.34 crore at Kalyanpur village in Paliganj block of Patna district.
He also inaugurated the start of construction work on a Rs100 crore road project on the left embankment-cum-Sone protection embankment of the Patna main canal in Arwal district. This project will give new momentum to development by providing enhanced connectivity to the region stretching from NH-139 to Kauriyam Mor.
He said the ASHA initiative under the water resources department (WRD) will promote advanced irrigation technology while providing better facilities to farmers, and will also strengthen water conservation and energy efficiency. “Our commitment to the overall development of the agriculture and irrigation sector in Bihar continues unabated,” he said.
