Deputy CM opens boat ride facility at Kharagpur Lake
Patna: Ahead of the New Year, Bihar deputy CM Samrat Choudhary on Sunday inaugurated a boat ride facility at Kharagpur Lake in Munger district. The lake is known for its natural resources, hot springs, dense forests and rich biodiversity. During his visit, Choudhary also inaugurated medical services at the Sadar Hospital in Haveli Kharagpur and inspected ongoing development works at the lake.
Speaking to reporters, Choudhary said, “The development of Kharagpur Lake will not only give a new identity to the district on the international tourism map but also create large-scale employment opportunities and boost economic development.”
He described the inauguration of medical services at the 100-bed hospital as a major achievement for the region, noting that the facility has been equipped with modern medical equipment and adequate staff to provide improved healthcare services to local residents.
The deputy chief minister also inaugurated beautification works carried out near the lake and held a detailed meeting with officials from various departments to review the overall development plan for Kharagpur Lake. He issued necessary directions to ensure timely and quality execution of the projects.
During the programme, Choudhary laid the foundation for infrastructure development at five primary vegetable producer cooperative societies in Munger district under the Bihar State Vegetable Processing and Marketing Cooperative Scheme. “The initiative will provide better marketing facilities to farmers and help increase their income,” he said.
Expressing confidence in the ongoing initiatives, the deputy chief minister said development works related to health, tourism and agriculture would give fresh momentum to Munger district and bring positive changes to the lives of local people.
