CM inspects Patna Sahib link road, asks officials to expedite work
Patna: CM Nitish Kumar on Monday inspected the link road under construction from Patna Sahib railway station to Patna Ghat under JP Ganga Path Project in Malsalami Maroofganj area here. He directed the officials present at the site to complete the construction work expeditiously.
The link road starts from Patna Sahib railway station and goes to Patna Ghat. The 1.5-km-long link road is being constructed at a cost of Rs52.54 crore.
“This link road is very important for this area. Its completion will provide great convenience to people in commuting. People will get relief from traffic jams,” Nitish said during the inspection. He directed that the construction work be completed on time.
“The construction of the link road will provide relief from the traffic jam problem on Ashok Rajpath and Maroofganj Mandi area. Along with this, it will also provide connectivity from JP Ganga Path to the new NH-30 through a rail overbridge (RoB) at Patna Sahib railway station. The proposed link road will also provide easy connectivity to areas like Dalhatta, Charkhipar and others. This will reduce the traffic jam problem in the surrounding areas and provide convenience to people in commuting,” a communique issued from the CM’s office (CMO) said.
Accompanied by the state’s water resources minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary, the CM also visited Kangan Ghat and inspected the four-lane widening and construction work of the Bhadraghat-Didarganj road. Nitish directed the officials to complete the work on time.
“Administrative approval of Rs158.40 crore was given for the widening and construction work of the 7.80-km road. The widening and construction work is being carried out in Section 1 from Bhadraghat to Mirchai Ghat (total length 2.35 km); Section 2 from Mirchai Ghat to Patna Ghat (total length 1.65 km); Section 3 from Patna Ghat to Sharifaganj Ghat (1.55 km), and Section 4 from Sharifaganj Ghat to Didarganj (2.25 km),” the communique said.
“The two-lane road between Bhadraghat and Damrahi Ghat reduced the vehicular pressure on Ashok Rajpath and was successful in providing relief to the people of the Patna City area from the traffic jam problem. The construction of the four-lane road from Bhadraghat to Didarganj will reduce the vehicular pressure on Ashok Rajpath and provide relief to people from the traffic jam problem. Along with this, people will have great convenience in reaching the Ganga river during the Chhath Mahaparv and various religious rituals and social occasions,” the CMO said.
