Civil defence recruitment drive launched

Buxar: A meeting to promote civil defence volunteerism was held at the Buxar Collectorate Auditorium on Thursday under the chairmanship of Paresh Saxena, director general-cum-commissioner of civil security, Bihar. The event was attended by DM Vidya Nand Singh and SP Shubham Arya.Saxena said the ministry of home affairs has launched a portal for online registration. "Interested people can register online with the required documents and eligibility criteria. The application will then be verified by the district controller or a designated officer," he said.Both online and offline applicants will undergo basic civil defence training at the state or district level. Once trained, they will be officially designated as civil defence volunteers and may be called upon when needed."This is an opportunity for citizens to actively contribute to public safety and emergency response," Saxena said.
